{"id":2340,"date":"2020-05-30T08:54:16","date_gmt":"2020-05-30T08:54:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bpe.gov.ng\/?p=2340"},"modified":"2025-09-08T02:12:50","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T02:12:50","slug":"bpe-not-opposed-to-forensic-audit-of-discos-okoh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bpe.gov.ng\/staging\/bpe-not-opposed-to-forensic-audit-of-discos-okoh\/","title":{"rendered":"BPE Not Opposed To Forensic Audit of DISCOs &#8211; Okoh"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bureau of Public Enterprises is not opposed to the planned forensic audit of the power companies in Nigeria by the Federal Government and therefore, not part of the decision by the eleven (11) power Distribution Companies (Discos) to seek court redress to restraint the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) from interfering in their (Discos)\u2019s corporate activities, Director General of the Bureau, Mr. Alex A. Okoh has said.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement personally signed by the Director General and copied\u00a0 the Executive Chairman of NERC on Friday, May 29, 2020, Okoh said \u201c BPE was not consulted and was not part of this action\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The Statement reads in part: \u201cFor the avoidance of doubt, the Bureau wishes to inform NERC that there was never a time when the Boards of the Discos neither discussed any of these matters nor decided to oppose the forensic audit or any of such matter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlease, note that the Bureau was not consulted and is not part of this action;
