Authorities\u201d) were created to harness and develop the nation\u2019s water resource potentials and serve as veritable vehicles for comprehensive and integrated rural development in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>CURRENT STATUS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Shareholding Structure<\/strong> :100% to government before partial commecrialisation after which it will be structured to accommodate both parties (Government-RBDAs &amp; Investors)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Current Status of The Enterprise<\/strong> : The RBDAs are slated for partial commercialisation of four (4) pilot projects of the named RBDAs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Track Record<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 surface and ground water resources estimated at about 250 billion cubic meters yet to be exploited<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Project was conceived to support the realisation of Federal Government\u2019s aspirations for water resources, agriculture and hydro power sectors which hitherto have been embedded with huge opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POTENTIALS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Various crops can be grown successfully, including rice, vegetables, maize, etc<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Massive irrigation potential of over 3.14 million hectares (about 100,000 hectares currently developed)<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Small to large scale hydro-electric power generating capacity largely untapped<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Abundant surface and ground water resources estimated at about 250 billion cubic meters yet to be exploited<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Fishery, Piggery &amp; Poultry Development opportunities<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Food Production, Processing and Storage prospects<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 Tourism &amp; Water Sports\/Recreations potentials<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 To construct, operate and maintain dams, dykes, polders, wells, boreholes, irrigation<\/p>\n<p>o\u00a0\u00a0 To develop and keep up-to-date
