Advancement Programme to become the Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative and Rural Development Bank Limited.<\/li>\n<li>Subsequently in 2010, the Bank\u2019s name was changed to BOA in a bid to reposition the Bank into an effective and sustainable development financial institution in the country.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><strong>STATUS <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Bank has the potential to make positive impacts in a Nation with natural endowments for arable farming, vast irrigation resources, good weather and over 30% of the populace falling within the youthful age group.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>CBN\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0&#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>20% <\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Private Sector (Institutional Investors,<strong>SHAREHOLDING STRUCTURE<\/strong><strong>Existing Shareholding Structure:<\/strong>\n<p>Supervised by Federal Ministry of Agriculture &amp; Rural Development, BOA has the following shareholding structure:<\/p>\n<p><strong>MOFI &#8211; 60% <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CBN\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0 40% <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PROPOSED REFORM <\/strong>farmers\u2019 cooperatives &amp; the public\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <strong>80%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reform plan : <\/strong>Restructuring and Recapitalisation of the Bank<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROSPECT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BoA to transform it into viable and sustainable provider of financial services to all segments of the rural population, including the poor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; BACKGROUND The Bank of Agriculture Limited (BoA) is a Nigerian national agricultural and rural developmentfinance institution, wholly owned by the FGN.
