{"id":4724,"date":"2019-06-06T15:18:27","date_gmt":"2019-06-06T15:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bpe.gov.ng\/?p=2061"},"modified":"2025-09-08T02:21:57","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T02:21:57","slug":"bpe-dissociates-self-from-purported-phcn-staff-verification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bpe.gov.ng\/staging\/bpe-dissociates-self-from-purported-phcn-staff-verification\/","title":{"rendered":"BPE Dissociates Self From Purported PHCN Staff Verification"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #2f2f2f; font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: large;\"><b>RE: BPE-Notice To All Disengaged Staff Of Ex-PHCN Staff\u00a0<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: medium;\">Our attention has been drawn to attempts by a group of former staff of the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to link the Bureau to a purported verification exercise for the disengaged staff of the entity \u00a0and \u00a0they have circulated various \u00a0 correspondences to their members in that regard. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: medium;\">In the correspondences, captioned:<\/span><span style=\"color: #2f2f2f; font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: large;\"><b>\u00a0BPE-Notice To All Disengaged Staff Of Ex-PHCN Staff\u00a0<\/b>and written in poor English Language,<b>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>the group represented by one Ndiwe Louis Okechukwu requested former staff of the defunct PHCN to visit designated venues in the country with relevant documents and a \u00a0processing fee of N1,000 each. It also said BPE has released 10,000 forms with a security number to all the zones across the country and that the forms must be returned in hard copies with specific requirements and after processing, payment would commence until the whole 48,000 staff are paid.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2f2f2f; font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: large;\">The Correspondences read in part:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2f2f2f; font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: large;\"><i>\u201dDue to the secrecy of our meetings &amp; struggle towards getting our unpaid claims, it is advised that those to fill the expected form should come to the various designated venues with their particulars as prescribed. No one is expected to be allowed to make a photo copy of it. Being it a blank or completed copy. This is for strict compliance please.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2f2f2f; font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: large;\"><i>BPE released 10,000 forms to be shared for all the zones across the nation and the beauty of it is that the form has a security number and the form must be returned as hard copy with the requirements stated therein above and as such should not be photocopied. And after the first 10,000 has been processed and payment will commence on it there after another 10,000 will be released as above until they finished the whole 48,000 staff.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2f2f2f; font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: large;\">For the avoidance of doubt, the BPE is not conducting another verification exercise for the defunct staff of the PHCN and is not in any way connected with the purported verification by the group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2f2f2f; font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: large;\">It must be noted that each time the Bureau carries out verification of \u00a0former staff of the defunct PHCN, adequate publicity is carried out with the involvement of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) and the Senior Staff Association Of Electricity And Allied Companies (SSAEC). But in the purported verification by the group these are absent. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #2f2f2f; font-family: Century Gothic; font-size: large;\">BPE wishes to dissociate itself from the purported verification and warns all former staff of the PHCN and general public to beware!
